Direct to Film Printing
Direct to Film printing is a fine detailed, high quality printing process that produces transfers for garment printing. As the name suggests, the artwork is printed onto a film which provides a method of transport to the desired garments. Applied using a heat press the ink is pressed directly into the fibres of the garment for a long lasting and durable print.

Our DTFMagic Pro 60 comes complete with an integrated powdering and curing oven to streamline and perfect the process of producing high quality and accurate prints.
Powered by Kodak Ink Technology, we print in full CMYK+W to produce high quality and visually stunning DTF prints. Using a double print head, the machine will first lay down a full colour print of your design on to the film and then accurately print over this in full white ink to ensure maximum colour vibrancy when transferred to the garment.
As the print process continues, the printed items continue along a heated bed at 50° and into the automated powdering unit. This ensures that each print is fully covered in glue powder so that no part of the design is missed.
Once the prints have been coated in powder they then travel through a heating oven set at 110° which cures the prints and glue ready to be instantly transferred to the required garments.
The whole process is seamless and a full meter of prints can be produced in just 10 minutes.

FAQ's
DTF printing works best on Cotton or Polyester garments however in some circumstances we can print DTF onto Nylon.
DTF printing is not suited for printing faded edges or gradient edges as where there is any colour, be that semi transparent or full opacity, the machine will always print white ink behind it which can sometimes give a bad effect when printing onto darker coloured garments.
All image files are printable however if you require a transparent background you would need to provide the image as a PNG or PDF with the transparent background in place. That being said we take all image types such as JPEG, PNG, PSD, PDF, AI, CDR etc.
Yes, you can use apps such as Canva or Kittl however to produce the best quality prints we do suggest using the paid versions as these allow for files to be exported ready for print and as a PDF which preserves vectors.
